Responsible & sustainable fashion
RESPONSIBLE, ETHICAL AND SUSTAINABLE FASHION IS POSSIBLE
Slow fashion is a movement that focuses on creating garments in an ethical way, respecting the environment and promoting fair working conditions. We seek to counteract the mass and fast production of conventional fashion, which often leads to the depletion of natural and human resources. This movement seeks to foster a fashion industry that is more conscious and responsible to both people and the environment. Our community values the work of our brands. They prioritise quality, ethics and sustainability when investing in exclusive and timeless pieces. More and more people are aware of the social and environmental impact they can produce when buying.
Our main value is to give visibility and preserve Spanish craftsmanship, handmade products using traditional techniques handed down from generation to generation. Each region of Spain has its own artisan specialities, with unique designs, materials and techniques that reflect the cultural diversity of the country. The concept of "km 0" in Spain refers to the production and consumption of local products, which are produced in the same region or in nearby areas. The idea is to encourage local production, support local artisans and producers, and reduce the environmental footprint associated with long-distance transport.
By combining Spanish craftsmanship and the "km 0" approach, our more than 120 designers and artists promote fair trade in the manufacture of their garments, using organic or recycled materials, following responsible production practices and minimising environmental impact. Ways in which we create slow, ethical and responsible fashion:
1. 100% Local Trade: By buying from local businesses, you are directly supporting local entrepreneurs and business owners. This helps strengthen the community economy, creating jobs and opportunities for local residents.
2. Circular fashion design and production: Circular fashion seeks to close the life cycle of textile products, preventing them from becoming waste. This includes the design of durable garments.
3. Ethical production: Responsible fashion involves ensuring that clothing is produced under fair and safe working conditions. This includes eliminating child labour, ensuring living wages for workers and providing a safe working environment.
4. Environmental sustainability: This includes reducing carbon emissions, using water responsibly, choosing sustainable materials and minimising waste through recycling and reuse.
5.Conscious consumption: Consumers play an important role in responsible fashion by making informed purchasing decisions. This involves opting for brands that adhere to ethical and sustainable practices, preferring quality over quantity, and reusing clothes rather than throwing them away.
6. Transparency and education: Responsible fashion involves being transparent about production practices and providing clear information to consumers about the origin of products and associated impacts. It also involves educating consumers about the importance of responsible fashion and how they can contribute to it.
If the fashion industry, designers, consumers and ES Fascinante work together, it is possible to promote more responsible and sustainable fashion. Every small step in this direction contributes to a positive change towards an increasingly sustainable industry.
